When I was creating this piece, I kept thinking about how I used to view abstract work in my Jackson Pollock discovery days. I thought it was all accidental, paint that just happened to land in a certain way and became appealing. But after years of working predominantly as an abstract artist, and specifically on this piece; I’m reminded that I have to be so intentional with each stroke, reminded of the hours spent researching, planning and mocking up before creation. Not accidental at all.
